Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center Auxiliary donated $600 to the Resource Center to be used to pay for Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Clinics that will go to Tigard-Tualatin School District elementary schools. Services will be provided to children with urgent care needs and no dental insurance. Thank you Auxiliary.

During the holiday season the Resource Center coordinated efforts to help 303 Tigard-Tualatin families with holiday sponsorship. This sponsorship was made possible by generous donations from individuals and community organizations and the efforts of their teams of volunteers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the groups that participated in this effort (in no particular order): The Tualatin Valley Elks, Rolling Hills Church, The Tigard American Legions, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, Christ the King Lutheran Church, Strategic Printing, Impulso Espiritual youth group from St. Anthony’s Church, Nike, Tualatin Methodist Church, and staff from the following organizations, OHSU, Pacific University, The Tigard Lions and the countless school district staff who worked tirelessly to get assistance to families.
Novellus Systems, Inc. of Tualatin hosted a food and toy drive, donating many items for distribution to families. They also collected employee donations, and the company provided a cash match for a total cash donation of $6,990. As well as providing gift cards to families this holiday, the generous donation will be used to purchase hygiene supplies, bus tickets and other emergency items throughout the year. The Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center appreciates your exceptional generosity.
In the spirit of holiday giving the employees of the City of Tualatin donated $731 to the Resource Center. These funds will also be used to purchase hygiene products, gas and food vouchers and bus tickets. Thank you employees at City of Tualatin for your outstanding kindness.

The City of Tualatin Grant awarded to the Resource Center for $4,000! This will be the City of Tualatin’s tenth year supporting the Resource Center. Their generous grants have funded multiple dental clinics that have served Tualatin children with no dental insurance with urgent care needs, provided transportation assistance to Tualatin families, purchased center computers and other office equipment, sponsored volunteer appreciation activities and funded staff hours among other supports. Their on-going assistance has made a significant impact on the Resource Center’s ability to serve the local community and specifically Tualatin families. Thank you City of Tualatin.

Durham Elementary staff organized a hygiene drive in order to donate items to the Resource Center. Every classroom participated! Their delivery of soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent and other useful items was estimated to have a value of $1,013. Durham Elementary’s efforts are truly appreciated.

Grainger Industrial Supplies donated $10,000 to the Family Resource Center. Mike Hoxie, Branch Manager of the Tigard Grainger nominated the Resource Center for funding. The very generous donation will be used in a variety of ways to help Tigard and Tualatin Families. $6,000 will fund Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Clinics that will serve children with urgent dental care needs but no dental insurance. $2,000 will help pay for after school activities for children when no other scholarships are available. $1,000 will pay for supplies for volunteer-led classes and the remaining $1,000 will pay for transportation for low-income families to get to such events as doctor’s appointments, job interviews and other important trips. Thank you Grainger employees and company.

City of Tigard Grant awarded to the Resource Center for $6,000! The grant will support Resource Center programs and help to keep its doors open to clients in need of resource connection, parenting and English classes, basic needs assistance and other services. Thank you City of Tigard.
